Adventure Tours in Costa Rica

Paradise, emerald blue rivers, white sand beaches, kaleidoscope of flora and fauna, erupting volcanoes, and warm hospitality, these are just some of the words to describe Costa Rica. This country is Central America’s jewel and is a haven for experiencing the tropics at a lesser impact. Since it is mostly coastline, it also has an abundance of beaches with great surfing sights and a climate built for total relaxation.

Costa Rica is also an ecotourism heaven with lush jungles that are home to great wildlife like, monkeys, exotic birds, poison-dart frogs, crocodiles, countless lizards, insects and butterflies, and endangered sea turtles nest on both coasts.

Parque Nacional Santa Rosa is one of the oldest National Parks and biggest in Costa Rica that protects the largest remaining stand of tropical dry forest in Central America, it also guards some of the most significant nesting sites of a number of species of sea turtle including rare ones. Adventure tours in Costa Rica should have this small community on their list. This community is in northwestern Costa Rica which is now a well known and interesting destination for local and international visitors. The closest settlement to the cloud-forest reserve of Monteverde is the small town of Santa Elena. The road that leads from the town’s center to the reserve is gathered with attractions such as the butterfly garden, cheese factory, art galleries, and the serpentarium.

Peninsula de Nicoya
Your adventure tours in Costa Rica will not be complete without a visit to this area on the northwestern Pacific coast. Although this area is difficult to travel because of lack of paved roads, it will all be worth it because some of the country’s most remote and best beaches are here.

Wildlife reserves and parks that are rarely visited are also in this area such as Parque Nacional Marino las Baulas Guanacaste which includes Playa Grande a significant nesting site for the leatherback turtle. The most nearby beach on the peninsula is the Playa del Coco which has a nice setting and small villages with some nightlife.

San José
After adventuring on the wildlife and natural side of Costa Rica, experiencing the cosmopolitan side should not be excluded on your adventure tours in Costa Rica. San Jose is bundled with office towers, fast-food restaurants, shopping malls, mobiles and low-rise jeans. It may not be as attractive as the modern world but it is the core of Costa Rican life.

Museums, theaters, cinemas, vibrant nightlife, and world class restaurants with epicure delicacies alongside usual eateries that serve traditional meals.
